Some Practical Evidences of a Life of Self Denial 

1. When you are neglected by others, insulted or overlooked, your heart is

content to be counted worthy to suffer for Christ.  That is dying to self!

1. When your good is spoken of as evil, your advice disregarded, your opinions

ridiculed you don’t get angry or defend yourself but you are patient, loyal
and silent.  That’s dying to self.

1. When you are content with what you have, that’s dying to self

1. When you patiently deal with annoyance, stand face-to-face with foolishness

and endure it as Jesus did, that is dying to self.

1. When you are willing to have your life interrupted by whatever God’s will

is, that is dying to self.

1. When you never care to seek commendation or praise and truly love to be

unknown, that is dying to self.

1. When others succeed and prosper and you can rejoice with them and feel no

envy or question God when your own needs may be great, that is dying to
self.

1. When you can receive correction and reproof and humbly submit inwardly

as well as out and have no resentment in your heart, that is dying to self.
