Lord, Teach Us to Pray: Lead Us Not Into Temptation – Pastor Ascher
Luke 4:4 THREE PETITIONS DIRECTED AT THE GLORY OF GOD: 1. “Hallowed by your name” 2. “Your Kingdom come” 3. “Your Will be done” THREE PETITIONS DIRECTED AT OUR NEEDS: 1. “Give us each day our daily bread” 2. “Forgive us our sins” 3. “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one” When we pray “Lead us not into temptation” we acknowledge God as our SHELTER! EVERY PETITION IN THE LORD’S PRAYER EXPRESSES THE AFFIRMATION OF PROMISES GOD HAS ALREADY MADE: 1. His name WILL be hallowed 2. His Kingdom WILL come 3. His will, WILL be done 4. He WILL supply all we need. 5. He WILL forgive our sin 6. He WILL NOT lead us into temptation From the moment of salvation it is “Father, your name not mine. Your kingdom, not mine. Your will, not mine. What you think I need, not what I think I need. Your forgiveness not my pride and your protection not my cleverness.” James 1:13 James 1:14, 15, 16, 17 I Cor. 10:13
